Strong leaders influence change in governance and policies through effective advocacy

Developing advocacy skills is a key step in becoming a strong PTA leader; this is true for any position in the organization. The best advocates not only actively support a cause themselves, but also influence others to believe, engage, and mobilize to drive changes that benefit children. That community engagement can present as volunteerism, funding, or, most directly, membership. As leaders, we need to weave advocacy into all that we do.
